Agreement to Terms

By installing or using the Sticky Notes Chrome extension ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

Description of Service

Sticky Notes is a Chrome extension that allows you to create and attach persistent notes to specific elements on any webpage. The Service includes:

  • Creating and editing sticky notes
  • Anchoring notes to webpage elements
  • Cloud synchronization (optional)
  • Sharing notes with other users (optional)

User Accounts

Some features require signing in with a Google account. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your account
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us of any unauthorized access

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any laws or regulations
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights
  • Harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Distribute malware or malicious content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems
  • Interfere with the proper operation of the Service
  • Store illegal, harmful, or objectionable content

Your Content

You retain ownership of content you create using the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

You are solely responsible for the content of your notes. We do not monitor or review note content unless required by law or to investigate violations of these Terms.

Sharing and Collaboration

When you share a note with another user:

  • They can view and edit the shared note
  • You can revoke access at any time
  • You remain responsible for content you originally created

Intellectual Property

The Service, including its code, design, and documentation, is open source under the MIT License. You may view the source code at GitHub.

The Sticky Notes name, logo, and branding are property of the project maintainers.

Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

  • Maintenance and updates
  • Technical issues
  • Circumstances beyond our control

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR AVAILABLE AT ALL TIMES.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the extension.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with standard dispute resolution procedures.
